Curious if the T-Levels are right for your child and their future ambitions?

This is the blog for you!

In a previous blog we talked about the difference between T-levels and Apprenticeships. We covered briefly what each type of course provides, what kind of qualification you will receive out of it and how it may help with your child’s progression through their education towards their dream’s ambitions and career.

In this blog we would like to look into T-levels in more detail and help you understand and make the decision – “Are the T-Levels right for my child and their future ambitions?”

What is the duration of the T-Levels?

They are a 2-year qualification that you can gain extensive knowledge during, by utilizing a great industry and classroom balanced education.

What is the T-Level qualification equivalent to?

One T-Level takes 2 years of full-time study and is equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

In more detail from the Gov.uk website:

The T Level certificate will include:

·       an overall grade for the T Level, shown as pass, merit, distinction or distinction*

·       a separate grade for the core component, using A* to E

What does a T-Level course include?

What can you learn in a T-Level course?

Students can apply for a total of 10 T-Level courses right now, however over the next few years there are plans to roll out a total of more than 20 T-Level subjects.

How can I find a T-Level course?

The first T-Levels have started in selected colleges and schools in England, more will be coming in the following years. We suggest first and foremost, booking your First Call with us by clicking here to talk about your options. However, if you would like to carry out your own research you can click this link to be taken to the T-Levels website and you can search your area for T-Levels near you.

When is the best time to take the T-Level course?

T-Levels are ideal if you have finished your GCSEs and want the knowledge and experience to get straight into employment, an apprenticeship or higher education.

What are the alternatives?

The T-Levels are an alternative qualification to A-Levels, other post-16 courses or an apprenticeship.

The best part about T-Levels?

They bring classroom learning and an extended industry placement together on a course designed specifically with businesses and employers.

Hopefully the information in this blog gives you a clear insight to the T-Levels as a qualification without the confusion of a comparison.
